My first weather station seems to be pretty damn good
I did spend some time researching feedback on this device and it seemed to offer the best value for money. My wife and I just wanted a device to help us manage our air conditionerless house and this helps us know when the cool change comes through. It may look 'plastic' but it looks like good, tough materials have been used. Assembly and set up was a breeze, but getting a neat install was made a bit harder with too much cable (do some people separate all the sensors by a meter or so?). The instructions are pretty clear and easy to follow. The wireless link seems to manage through (or is it around?) our steel roof - the sensors are ~8m above ground on a chimney. My wife loves having the info so readily to hand. The only downside is an error I made in not looking closely enough at the software options. We have a Mac and all the suitable OSX weather/datalogging programs are NOT free. The software with the device is PC only but it is free. Now we have too see how it lasts in the harsh Australian sun and costal environment.

Great system for me to get started
I have had the system for about a week. Very easy to set up and get going with the Cumulus software. Uploading to a web site with no issues. Fantastic range of measurements to monitor. All measurements seem fairly accurate except temperature. I might need to move the temperature sensor as it is ready a couple of degrees higher I think. Rain guage has the occasional hiccup with a 0.3 mm reading when no rain. May be some remaining water from the last rain or shaking of the stand. Will keep tuning the set-up. But recommended as a good way to get going with the weather.

Very Happy
Spent a longtime trying to decide on the best medium priced weather station to buy for my partner. So far this has been great. Relatively easy to set-up with the great tips from the monax guide! Is all functioning how we would expect.

Choice
Having had a few cheap weather stations in the past, I wish I had known about this one from the beginning.

Very informative
We have found that the Aercus has lived up to its claims as a very informative unit. It is early days yet and we have not has the chance to explore its full capabilities. It proved to be relatively easy to put together. Some of the drawings could have been more descriptive. I found that the screw to fix the rain gauge to the stand would not fully go in and I have some doubts that one small screw will keep it secured in high winds. At this stage we have not down loaded the information so cannot comment on this at this stage. Ken

Research pays dividend
Having done plenty of research on updating my old weather station at an affordable price, Santa (AKA my wife) purchased the WS3083 as my Christmas Present. Set up was very straight forward so long as one makes sure each connection to the transmitter unit clicks firmly into place. An initial problem was caused by one not having clicked in its socket. Transmission to the base unit was immediate. The rain gauge was tested the other day. The 0.3 scaling is much improved on my old 0.7. We live on the opposite side of town to our local airport from where official recordings. We are also 100 metres higher. Temperature, humidity and relative pressure readings are extremely close taking the variables into account. As I work with Mac, I have had to purchase some appropriate software. That provided is Windows based. However it all came as part of the gift. I'm delighted with the unit, the software and the Company service.

Great Retirement Present
We have recently retired to our beach house and I was trying to find that perfect present for my husband. The wireless weather station has proved to be the answer. It was easy to assemble and understand how it works. Even for average computer brains the software is proving to be an added bonus. Now we have confidence in the weather prediction so we can go fishing!!!

The ideal present
This weather station was purchased as a birthday present for a relative. It has been set up on a barn roof approx 50 meters from the house using an adjustable antenna mast, which put the unit a good meter above the steel barn roof. The assembly was easy and the unit has been working well since installation. The owner is very happy with the features and performance.
