For improved accuracy, temperature and humidity sensors are housed inside a radiation shield. The shield protects against solar radiation and other sources of radiated and reflected heat.

Replacement was easy to install
I purchased the integrated sensor suite to replace the one supplied with my Vantage Pro 2 in 2007. There have been some good improvements to the product; the screen to prevent stray debris blocking the rain collector, the bird spikes and hand holds to make dis-assembly and cleaning easier. The new unit connected via the wireless link to the console with no difficulty, easy to do!
